NRC Meeting With Public Jan. 6 on Environmental Scoping For Comanche Peak New Reactor Application
Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will hold public meetings Tuesday, Jan. 6, in Glen Rose,
Texas, to discuss the environmental issues the agency should consider in reviewing a Combined
License (COL) application for two new reactors proposed for the Comanche Peak site near Glen
Rose.
An hour long NRC presentation will precede each of these meeting times:
1-4 PM
7-10 PM
Glen Rose Expo Center
202 Bo Gibbs Blvd in Glen Rose, Texas

The application's environmental report is available on the agency's Web site at: www.nrc.gov/reactors/new-reactors/col/comanche-peak.html.
Luminant Generation submitted its application Sept. 19 to build and operate two U.S. Advanced Pressurized Water Reactors at the site, about four miles north of Glen Rose.
Those wishing to register in advance to present their comments at the meeting, or who require special accommodations or equipment to attend or speak should contact Michael Willingham by telephone at 800-368-5642, x3924 or via e-mail at Comanche.COLEIS@nrc.gov by Dec. 30. Those wishing to speak, may also register at each meeting no later than 12:55 p.m. and 6:55 p.m., respectively. Individual comments may be limited by the time available and the number of people wishing to speak.
NRC staff will also consider written comments on the scoping process. Comments should be submitted no later than Feb. 17, 2009, either by mail to the Chief, Rules and Directives Branch, Division of Administrative Services, Office of Administration, Mailstop TWB-05-B01M, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001, or via e-mail at Comanche.COLEIS@nrc.gov.
